Evening, cannot quite believe it’s been another week but yet here we are … It’s been a great, busy week! Have you all had a good one?
I have made flapjacks a plenty and feel like it’s one of those easy things you do as kids but I still love them and think there isn’t much better than this yummy treat. Now I’ve tried lots of different recipes but for the last couple of years have stuck with this one and it has always come out well; sticky, syrupy, oaty goodness 😋😋😋
So here it is…
Preheat the oven to 180C (fan 160C)
Grease and line a baking tin I use a square 9″ one that works well.
Melt 200g butter in a pan, stir in 100g maple syrup and 150g light brown sugar and simmer until it’s mostly dissolved.
Remove from the heat and stir in 325g oats.
Spoon into the tin and push to corners and flatten.
Bake for 25 mins.
Allow to cool before slicing (always good to score first)
It’s also really yummy to add bits to flapjacks like raisins, dried cranberries, dried apricots and maybe marshmallows – not all at once, well you could try 😂
